Project description:
The project involves complex manufacturing process and marketing innovation.
Manufacturing process innovation:
The planned project aims to improve a manufacturing process that currently requires a lot of human intervention, has a high potential for error, and could be made more efficient. Real-time monitoring of gases escaping from the fermentation chamber during product manufacturing using O2 and CO2 sensors would make the manufacturing process more efficient and economical, as the oxygen and carbon dioxide concentrations in the escaping gases would provide a more accurate indication of when to stop each fermentation. Real-time monitoring of respiratory gas concentrations results in better control of biological processes and substrate consumption, which leads to a more robust production process and lower scrap rates. As part of the project, we plan to integrate the sensors into the manufacturing process and feed the data back into the process. Manually filling 50 and 1000 ml containers requires hundreds of hours of work each year. The products must be filled within a strict deadline, so several employees are always needed for dosing, which often causes difficulties in work organization in a small organization. Manual fastening of caps is a strenuous and uncomfortable task for workers, even when wearing protective gloves. Based on this, automating the filling process can significantly improve the efficiency of the manufacturing process, while also reducing the need for manual labor. As part of the project, we also plan to improve the filling process, which is part of the manufacturing process, through the purchase of equipment.
Presentation of marketing process innovation:
As part of our marketing innovation, we want to increase our online presence. We plan to make conscious use of science communication content to reach our retail customer base. Scientifically sound but easily understandable content can help increase the credibility of the brand and differentiate our products in the market. We plan to purchase laptops suitable for modern digital content creation, and we will also expand the roles of two employees with marketing tasks: one will be an online marketing manager, who will be responsible for search engine optimization, content marketing, advertising, and social media management. The other will be a science communication content creator who will be able to produce easy-to-understand and professionally credible material on fermentation technologies and the scientific background of the company’s products, whether in written or video form.
The project is being funded by the European Union and co-financed by the Hungarian government.
