Balázs Erdélyi, PhD

Balázs Erdélyi obtained his PhD degree in biotechnology from Corvinus University, Budapest, Hungary. From 1998 he worked at the Budapest Institute of Pharmaceutical Research, and between 2002 and 2006 he was head of the Fermentation Experimental Plant, where he was responsible for biosynthetic and biotransformation scale-up technology development. His special field of expertise is the production of chiral intermediates using yeasts. He is a member of the Working Committee on Bioengineering of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, the Working Committee on Terpenoid Chemistry and Organoelemental Chemistry of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences and the Hungarian Microbiological Society.
